Which Type of Writer Are You?

I'm reading Malcolm Gladwell's What the Dog Saw, "Late Bloomers," where he describes two types of writers: those who are experiential and those who are conceptual.

The first is where someone blooms late, using their lifetime experiences to refer to; the second type is where the writer starts with a clear idea of where they want to go, and then executes it. Which one are you; or do you do something completely different?
